Christopher B. Wallace’s practice is concentrated heavily in the area of oil and gas law with cases and projects spanning a multitude of jurisdictions. Most of his clients are oil, gas, mineral, and/or energy producers, transporters, marketers and distributors requiring legal expertise in matters involving general corporate issues, regulatory compliance, mineral and/or surface property acquisition/divestiture, leasing, title examination, industry trades and transactions, financing, and administrative hearings and procedures. In addition, representation and counsel are rendered to individuals and businesses in connection with a wide range of non-energy related legal matters.
Before returning to his home town in 1992, Wallace maintained a private oil and gas law practice in Sewickley, Pennsylvania after having served for many years as Eastern Region Counsel and Land Manager for Edisto Resources Corporation (nee Natural Resource Management Corporation) in Pittsburgh. In those corporate capacities, he managed a large staff charged with the operation and administration of thousands of acres of producing and non-producing leases, and coordinated the prosecution and defense of all legal matters involving Edisto (a Dallas, Texas-based exploration and production concern) and its hundreds of employees throughout the eastern United States. Prior to joining Edisto, he was employed by Anadarko Production Company and Pennzoil Company as a staff landman in their respective Denver, Colorado facilities.
Wallace graduated from the University of Vermont in Burlington (B.A. Political Science, 1976) and St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio (J.D., 1978). Wallace is a member of the New York State Bar Association, Pennsylvania Bar Association, West Virginia State Bar, Ohio State Bar Association, State Bar Association of North Dakota, State Bar of Texas, and the Oneida County (New York) Bar Association. In addition, he serves or has served as an officer, director and/or trustee of numerous legal, trade and educational organizations appurtenant to the oil and gas industry.
